OK, Halloween is coming and so is the candy. Pretty scary eh? Not when our sugarless friends like TV Chef Kathy Smart have you covered! Ditch the refined sugar-laden “treats” and as Kathy advises, “Just eat real food!” These chocolate chia balls are decadent, and made with superfood ingredients. So when the Superman in your life tells you about his candy collection, tell him you have something far more super delicious! Let him know the sugar’s for ditching and is worse for him than Kryptonite!
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup dried cherries
1/2 cup pitted dates
4 tablespoons of whole chia seeds
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
Pinch of sea salt and cinnamon
1. Combine all of the ingredients above in a food processor and process until crumbly and stick together.
2. Moisten with hands and form into balls.
3. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
